BloodseekerHERO GAME PLAN

What I want to do in the game

I pressure heroes who want to move around a lot and enter after health has already been lost.

Bloodseeker forces difficult decisions on his enemies. Able to drive his foes to a retreat by bathing a large area with a damaging ritual, his gruesome ultimate asks his opponents to hold still, or die.

01 / ROLE IN THE TEAM

A pick is not a plan yet.

My recommendation is a starting point. We choose another position together with the team and for its needs.

01

Carry · position 1

Initial recommendation

I need protected farm, my item window and damage on important targets.

02

Mid · position 2

Levels, lane control and joining the team at the right moment matter.

MY VIEW OF THE HERO

Pick for a purpose. Play with a plan.

When I pick

I like this against heroes who win fights through movement: Rupture makes them rethink their usual exit from contact.

What I watch out for

Not every mobile hero dies immediately: they can wait out the effect or keep fighting in place. I need allied control and my own way to hit the target.

What I do in combat

I cast Rupture before an expected escape and Blood Rite on the movement route or an ally's hold. I do not chase through an unknown map just because I have speed.

What I check first

Rupture does not replace a disable: the target can stand still and keep fighting.

02 / ITEMS FOR A PURPOSE

What I buy and why.

This is an editorial starting plan based on hero mechanics. It is not presented as a match I have already tested or a popularity ranking.

Carry · position 1

My starting plan

Here is my initial plan: I do my role's job first, then choose the items the team needs. I adapt the order and expensive purchases to the opponent.

  1. 01 / First stepPhase Boots

Help maintain close contact and pass through groups of units.

  2. 02 / FoundationMaelstrom

Speeds up creep clearing and adds attack damage against multiple targets.

  3. 03 / FoundationBlack King Bar

Provides a window for my actions against eligible magical damage and disables. I check effects that pierce the protection.

  4. 04 / Next choiceMjollnir

Upgrades Maelstrom for frequent attacks and adds a defensive electrical effect to the chosen target.

  5. 05 / Next choiceSkull Basher

Adds a chance to stun on attack, making it harder for the target to get out of melee range.

What I change for the situation 3 options
Blade Mail ↗

Makes enemy focus fire more costly by returning damage when the opponent is forced to keep attacking.

Sange and Yasha ↗

Adds speed, attributes and durability for a physical damage hero fighting up close.

Abyssal Blade ↗

Provides a targeted disable when slows and attacks are no longer enough.

I see the minute on the clock. And the situation too.

I do not assign one ‘correct’ minute to every purchase. I look at my gold, the next fight and the problem: am I missing mana, target access, control or protection? If an expensive slot will arrive too late, I get a useful answer earlier.

03 / HERO ABILITIES

Abilities. As in the game.

Innates, upgrades and other forms1 ability +

These abilities are not necessarily available at the same time. I check the condition beside the name: innate ability, another form or an Aghanim purchase.

Innate

Sanguivore

Killing any unit heals the hero for 30 health plus a portion of the victim’s maximum health.

Full description

Bloodseeker restores some life when he kills a unit, equal to 30 health plus a percentage of the units max health. Restores for half values if an ally kills a nearby enemy hero.
