Mist Coil
Abaddon releases a coil of deathly mist that can damage an enemy unit or heal a friendly unit at the cost of some of Abaddon's health.
Abilities, roles and builds with an explanation for every purchase.

HERO GAME PLANI dispel dangerous disables from allies and absorb some of the damage; in position three, I add pressure with attacks.
Able to transform enemy attacks into self-healing, Abaddon can survive almost any assault. Shielding allies and launching his double-edged coil at a friend or foe, he is always ready to ride into the thick of battle.
My recommendation is a starting point. We choose another position together with the team and for its needs.
My resource is the team's space: I hold the lane and build for initiation or team protection.
Help the lane, provide vision and keep the ally alive first; expensive upgrades follow the necessary team purchases.
This is an editorial starting plan based on hero mechanics. It is not presented as a match I have already tested or a popularity ranking.
Here is my initial plan: I do my role's job first, then choose the items the team needs. I adapt the order and expensive purchases to the opponent.

Help maintain close contact and pass through groups of units.

Strengthens the hero’s healing plan and provides another source of restoration when needed.

Buffs an allied hero for close-range fighting and adds a defensive tool.

Lets me remove an eligible negative effect and complicates the opponent's targeted focus.

Gives the team armor and attack speed, helping it apply physical pressure to heroes and objectives.

I do not assign one ‘correct’ minute to every purchase. I look at my gold, the next fight and the problem: am I missing mana, target access, control or protection? If an expensive slot will arrive too late, I get a useful answer earlier.

Abaddon releases a coil of deathly mist that can damage an enemy unit or heal a friendly unit at the cost of some of Abaddon's health.

Surrounds an ally with a barrier of dark energy that absorbs all damage types and applies a dispel to the target when created. When the barrier expires or is destroyed, it explodes, dealing damage equal to its health to nearby enemies.
Summons dark energies around an ally unit, dispelling them and creating an all damage barrier that absorbs a set amount of damage before expiring. When the barrier is destroyed it will burst and deal damage equal to the amount it could absorb to an area around it. DISPEL TYPE: Strong Dispel
When damage is absorbed, 75% of it is dealt to enemies near the target.

Abaddon strikes an enemy, affecting them by a chilling curse, slowing them, causing them to take damage over time, and all attacks against them gain an attack speed boost. Damage over time component to buildings is reduced by 100%.

Applies a dispel to the hero and converts all incoming damage into healing for the next few seconds. If the ability is ready, it activates automatically when the hero’s health drops below 400.
When activated, dispels you and all damage dealt to you will heal instead of harm. If the ability is not on cooldown, it will automatically activate if your health falls below 400. DISPEL TYPE: Strong Dispel
Increases the duration. While active, Mist Coil automatically triggers on allies within its cast range when they take more than 550 damage.
These abilities are not necessarily available at the same time. I check the condition beside the name: innate ability, another form or an Aghanim purchase.

After dealing damage to an enemy, the hero applies a debuff for 5 sec. that reduces the target’s health restoration by 29.5% when its health is below 40%.
