EarthshakerHERO GAME PLAN

What I want to do in the game

I look for a Fissure angle and an Echo Slam window; in position three, I get my initiation items sooner.

Whether blocking an enemy's escape, dividing their forces, or shattering the ground beneath gathered foes, Earthshaker is at his best when he strikes without warning. Whatever survives the aftershocks still has a swing from his mighty totem to look forward to.

01 / ROLE IN THE TEAM

A pick is not a plan yet.

My recommendation is a starting point. We choose another position together with the team and for its needs.

04

Support · position 4

Initial recommendation

I contribute through laning, control and movement. I adapt the expensive core route to my budget.

03

Offlane · position 3

My resource is the team's space: I hold the lane and build for initiation or team protection.

MY VIEW OF THE HERO

Pick for a purpose. Play with a plan.

When I pick

I pick this when enemies like grouping up or bring many units: that helps deliver the AoE abilities.

What I watch out for

The enemy can spread out and disable my jump with damage. Owning Blink does not guarantee a window, especially without information.

What I do in combat

Before Fissure, I see my ally's exit. For Echo Slam, I wait for a cluster the team can damage immediately after me.

What I check first

Fissure can cut off your own team. I watch my allies’ route as well as the enemies.

02 / ITEMS FOR A PURPOSE

What I buy and why.

This is an editorial starting plan based on hero mechanics. It is not presented as a match I have already tested or a popularity ranking.

Support · position 4

My starting plan

Here is my initial plan: I do my role's job first, then choose the items the team needs. I adapt the order and expensive purchases to the opponent.

  1. 01 / First stepArcane Boots

Provide mana for laning and regular ability use.

  2. 02 / FoundationBlink Dagger

Changes the entry angle and lets me reach a target quickly. Damage taken can prevent its use.

  3. 03 / FoundationForce Staff

Moves me or an ally out of danger; direction depends on the target's facing.

  4. 04 / Next choiceAghanim's Scepter

Unlocks or upgrades Enchant Totem. The exact effects are shown below in the abilities section.

  5. 05 / Next choiceBlack King Bar

Provides a window for my actions against eligible magical damage and disables. I check effects that pierce the protection.

What I change for the situation 3 options
Aghanim's Shard ↗

Unlocks or upgrades Fissure. The exact effects are shown below in the abilities section.

Refresher Orb ↗

Lets you repeat your main power window. Before buying, I consider whether I will have enough mana for both casts.

Aeon Disk ↗

Protects against sudden focus fire. I account for the cooldown and the fact that my damage is limited while it triggers.

I see the minute on the clock. And the situation too.

I do not assign one ‘correct’ minute to every purchase. I look at my gold, the next fight and the problem: am I missing mana, target access, control or protection? If an expensive slot will arrive too late, I get a useful answer earlier.

03 / HERO ABILITIES

Abilities. As in the game.

Original Valve icons and descriptions. Cooldowns and mana are shown by level from the data snapshot; talents and upgrades can change the values.

Ability

Fissure

Slams the ground with a mighty totem, creating an impassable ridge of stone while stunning and damaging enemy units along its line.

Aghanim’s Shard

Reduces Fissure cooldown and releases an Aftershock along its path that stuns for a shortened duration when Earthshaker casts another ability.

Ability

Enchant Totem

Empowers Earthshaker's totem, causing it to deal extra damage and have 100 bonus attack range on the next attack.

↻ 5 sec.Mana 45 / 55 / 65 / 75
Details and upgrades

Empowers Earthshaker's totem, causing it to deal extra damage and have 100 bonus attack range on the next attack.

Aghanim’s Scepter

Allows a jump to the selected point, casting Enchant Totem on landing. Self-casting works as before, without a jump. Attacks empowered by the ability deal cleave damage.

Ability

Aftershock

Causes the earth to shake underfoot, adding additional damage and stuns to nearby enemy units when Earthshaker casts his abilities.

Ability

Echo Slam

Shockwaves travel through the ground, damaging enemy units. Each enemy hit causes an echo to damage nearby units. Real heroes cause two echoes.

Innates, upgrades and other forms1 ability +

These abilities are not necessarily available at the same time. I check the condition beside the name: innate ability, another form or an Aghanim purchase.

Innate

Slugger

Enemies killed with Enchant Totem or Earthshaker's other abilities are sent flying, dealing damage to enemies they hit.
