DisruptorHERO GAME PLAN

What I want to do in the game

I bring an awkward target back with Glimpse and shut off its escape with the field and Static Storm.

Disruptor excels at ruining enemy plans. He can create an impassable barrier and unleash a silencing storm on trapped foes. If an enemy does something unexpected, Disruptor returns them to their earlier position.

01 / ROLE IN THE TEAM

A pick is not a plan yet.

My recommendation is a starting point. We choose another position together with the team and for its needs.

05

Hard support · position 5

Initial recommendation

Help the lane, provide vision and keep the ally alive first; expensive upgrades follow the necessary team purchases.

04

Support · position 4

I contribute through laning, control and movement. I adapt the expensive core route to my budget.

MY VIEW OF THE HERO

Pick for a purpose. Play with a plan.

When I pick

I pick this against movement without a safe exit, when Glimpse can bring an important target back into prepared team focus.

What I watch out for

Moving an enemy to a previous position can favour them. Without information, I may return them to help rather than a trap.

What I do in combat

I remember where the target was a few seconds ago. I place the field and Storm at the upcoming engagement, not where the hero just ran past.

What I check first

Glimpse sends a hero back to a previous position: I picture exactly where I am about to send them.

02 / ITEMS FOR A PURPOSE

What I buy and why.

This is an editorial starting plan based on hero mechanics. It is not presented as a match I have already tested or a popularity ranking.

Hard support · position 5

My starting plan

Here is my initial plan: I do my role's job first, then choose the items the team needs. I adapt the order and expensive purchases to the opponent.

  1. 01 / First stepArcane Boots

Provide mana for laning and regular ability use.

  2. 02 / FoundationGlimmer Cape

Adds a protective tool and hides the chosen ally; invisibility does not replace escaping detection.

  3. 03 / FoundationAether Lens

Lets you use targeted abilities and items from a safer distance.

  4. 04 / Next choiceForce Staff

Moves me or an ally out of danger; direction depends on the target's facing.

  5. 05 / Next choiceAghanim's Scepter

Unlocks or upgrades Static Storm. The exact effects are shown below in the abilities section.

What I change for the situation 3 options
Blink Dagger ↗

Changes the entry angle and lets me reach a target quickly. Damage taken can prevent its use.

Aeon Disk ↗

Protects against sudden focus fire. I account for the cooldown and the fact that my damage is limited while it triggers.

Aghanim's Shard ↗

Unlocks or upgrades Thunder Strike, Kinetic Field, Kinetic Fence. The exact effects are shown below in the abilities section.

I see the minute on the clock. And the situation too.

I do not assign one ‘correct’ minute to every purchase. I look at my gold, the next fight and the problem: am I missing mana, target access, control or protection? If an expensive slot will arrive too late, I get a useful answer earlier.

03 / HERO ABILITIES

Abilities. As in the game.

Original Valve icons and descriptions. Cooldowns and mana are shown by level from the data snapshot; talents and upgrades can change the values.

Ability

Thunder Strike

Repeatedly strikes the targeted unit with lightning. Each strike damages nearby enemy units in a small radius and slows enemy movement and attack speed by 100% for 0.3 seconds. Provides vision of its target.

Aghanim’s Shard

Increases the cast range and strike count of Thunder Strike. It can now also be ground targeted, where it will lie dormant for up to 4 seconds and attach to the first enemy that comes within the radius.

Ability

Glimpse

Teleports the target hero back to where it was 4 seconds ago. Instantly kills illusions. Deals damage equal to a percentage of the distance glimpsed, that cannot go over a damage maximum.

Ability

Kinetic Field

After a short formation time, creates a circular barrier of kinetic energy that enemies can't pass.

Aghanim’s Shard

The two forms of the area gain independent cooldowns.

Mechanics note: some upgrade numbers are missing from the source; I check the exact values in the client.
Ability

Static Storm

Creates a damaging static storm that also silences all enemy units in the area for the duration. The damage starts off weak, but increases in power over the duration.

Aghanim’s Scepter

Mutes items.

These abilities are not necessarily available at the same time. I check the condition beside the name: innate ability, another form or an Aghanim purchase.
