Trove of Terror: Tidehunter’s Arcana, Drow’s return and Rodya’s plans
Meow, Rodya here. Valve has released Trove of Terror, a treasure full of dark designs and a new Tidehunter Arcana. One eye is on the chest, the other on the Open button. Let’s first look at what Valve has officially announced, then at what we plan to film.

What is confirmed
- Valve’s official announcement includes 15 new Immortal sets. The update is available in Dota 2; you can view the treasure’s contents and details in the client.
- Tidehunter’s new Arcana is called Maw of the Megalodon. Valve lists a new model, animations, effects, taunts and voice lines, along with three shark-themed designs that can be unlocked. Check the unlock requirements in the client.
- Drow Ranger’s Arcana returns with its original look and an additional appearance. New Tormentor and Roshan appearances are also announced as rewards for opening treasures.
- The announcement was published on October 7 at 00:22 UTC, or 02:22 in Warsaw. October 6 in Steam’s US date display refers to that same moment.
Horrors worth a closer look
The collection’s theme is dark, otherworldly designs. I care about more than rarity and a bright glow: how clearly you can recognize the hero, how the items fit together and whether the new look has personality. That is our view of the design, not Valve’s assessment.
Tidehunter sounds like the hero who turned up at a party and ate the decorations. I want to see him move: the silhouette catches your eye in a picture, while the animations reveal the mood. Drow deserves a closer look too: the return of a familiar Arcana with an additional appearance gives us a reason to compare the details.
Browse first, pick favorites later
I would start by browsing the treasure in the client: pick a few favorites, rotate the models and look at the available effects. The cat pretends to be carrying out a serious inspection. Really, he just liked the teeth.
The written announcement does not list the price, drop rates or exact reward requirements. Check those details in the current game interface. A beautiful banner introduces the collection; the paw itself needs to read the opening conditions before pressing the button.
Rodya will open treasures too — and we’ll make a video
